The West Bend Community Memorial Library has received a generous donation of two paintings from Wisconsin artists.
Top: "Glamorous" by Bridget Griffin Evans is a bright painting that was influenced by the 1950s woman. Evans is known for her vivid art exhibitions and capturing images of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.
Left: In his work "Ave Maria," artist Charles Dwyer recalls comic book images that are stuck in his head. Dwyer was born and lived his early years in West Bend then, later graduating from the Milwaukee School of Art in 1984.
These two pieces were recently hung and can be enjoyed on the second floor south wall of the library, 630 Poplar St. Library officials say they are grateful to Judith Moriarty of West Bend for the donation of the pieces to the library’s permanent collection.
